About Us
Cumberland Creek Farm is located on rolling farm land and forests east of Lebanon, Tennessee. The property has been in family possession for 120 years and has historically operated as a tobacco farm. Recently, the Stengel family has focused our time and effort to develop and improve breeds that are considered rare and possess characteristics which garner attention and beauty. Our goal is to develop and produce breeds of show quality or satisfy chicken enthusiast dreams! The health of our flock is guaranteed and any chicks received will reflect our efforts. Aside from our poultry efforts, life on the farm includes a cool swim in the creek, tending family livestock, or a leisure walk on the farm roads with our dogs. We have two small children that love living on the farm and love animals. We converted a horse barn into our primary breeding pins for the chickens. This allows us to ensure that our breeding pins are separated. All of our chickens have access to an outside run area. This allows our birds to enjoy the sun, encourage free ranging, and dust bathing. The barn improves shelter and protection for our birds during times of inclement weather. We are NPIP and AI approved for the State of Tennessee. NPIP participant number #63-920. We will send appropriate NPIP/AI paperwork with all shipments. We are also breed club members for the Ameraucana Breeders Club (ABC) and The Ameraucana Alliance. We are also members of the American Poultry Association (APA). We work closely and actively participate within the Ameraucana Breeders Club. Rebecca in her professional career is a small animal veterinarian and attended The University of Tennessee. Cumberland Creek also offers Cumberland Creek Mobile Veterinary Service in the middle Tennessee area. We offer veterinary care to communities around Smith, Dekalb, Putnam, and Wilson Counties. Care will be provided to small animals, limited equine, and chicken veterinary services.
